6 Steps to Amplifying Your Light

As lightworkers, we came for such a time as this. The world is in a massive transition. Old systems are failing. New ideas and awarenesses are rising. And this transition aligns perfectly with the path you’ve been pioneering for years that your friends, family and society could not understand.

I believe the world is ready for your light. But to bring that light forward will require you to share that light in ways it can be amplified. For the last 6 years I’ve been working with lightworkers and conscious leaders around amplifying their message and their work so that those they seek to serve can find them.

There are 6 steps I teach to amplify your light and I’ll share them with you here.

Step 1: Find “It”

Many lightworkers find a modality for their work. It could be coaching, energy, crystals, tarot, spiritual gifts (really, there are so many modalities). But what can often get lost in the mechanics of modalities is the “it” behind the modality. There is a message behind what you do. A conviction. Something Life has taught you. And these lessons are the “it” behind why you decided to do your lightwork.

But as I said, our path leads us to modalities that often confuse and complicate the power and simplicity of the lesson Life has taught us. So we must find our way back to the core of our work. It’s more a feeling than a phrase. It’s hard for words to hold all that this lesson is you feel called to share. So lean into the feeling of it and do you best to find words that describe “it”, knowing that our words are not sufficient to hold the energy of the divine.

Step 2: Map “It”

Once you are reconnected to the “it” you feel deeply called to share, we want to Map that “it” to the people who have ears to hear it. Most people won’t have ears to hear what Life has taught you. And if you’re not careful, you’ll share your passion with people who don’t get it and you’ll think you’re the one who got it wrong.

For years I tried to share what Life taught me to people who just didn’t understand. Over time I thought I was the problem. Why did I feel so passionately about this only to have no one really get it. But then I began sharing with people who were at a different place in their life and had been on a similar path, asking similar questions… and they got “it”! They were so thankful for the light I shared because, like me, they thought they were the crazy ones. No one in their life was asking these kinds of questions. So when I shared what Life had taught me, these specific people (I call them your “Sacred Tribe”) not only got “it”, they leaned into “it” and my light was amplified by having found “the others”.

Step 3: Capture “It”

It is helpful to share this “it” that Life has taught you. Often, in our digital age, that means writing and videoing our message. But something funny happens when we sit in front of a camera or try to write for social media. We can lose our conviction and passion and what we feel doesn’t actually translate over there for them. We get in our head. We worry about how we look or sound. We get frustrated by technology. What we try to share feels clunky and less than the divine lesson and work we’ve received. So we shrink back frustrated or embarrassed by the feeling of trying to share our light and it not feeling divine.

But have you noticed that when you’re with a friend who totally gets you, that you can share what Life is teaching you in all your passion. You can feel the energy as you share. And they can feel your energy as you share. The exchange of energy is life giving and noticeable. If we could just “capture” what you’re sharing in this moment, in this environment, it would go a long way in conveying that energy to others in digital spaces. So the key to capturing this “it” is to put yourself in an environment or setting where you’re not worried about a camera but can authentically share and have it captured for the benefit of others.

Step 4: Produce “It”

With this message authentically captured, this raw material, we can now produce it specifically for digital platforms without losing it’s authenticity or energy. This is where most people think of marketing. The mechanics of producing something often get in the way of the authenticity. But that’s why we start with capturing it authentically. The marketing or producing of it, then, is just a way we create bite sized pieces of the conviction that came through us.

Done well, capturing our truth and message makes the mechanics of producing it easy. So easy in fact, that if technology and mechanics aren’t your thing, you can affordably hire someone else do it for you without losing any of your voice or authenticity.

Step 5: Share “It”

Sharing your truth is simply putting your message and content out on different platforms for people to find. And as they find it and interact with it, you have the opportunity to interact with them in their comments. You have a chance to build relationships with real people in digital spaces simply because you shared in a way that allowed them to experience, not your modality and the mechanics of how you do what you do, but your truth and the energy that comes with it.

To share is simply having the courage to post publicly what you’ve already captured, knowing that it’s not for everyone. It’s for your Sacred Tribe. Those who have ears to hear it. Sharing in this way gives you a new confidence moving forward. Now, rather than the misunderstood misfit doing “weird stuff” people don’t understand, you’re now the brave and courageous person standing in their truth that your sacred tribe openly acknowledges and appreciates.

Step 6: Grow “It”

As you find your groove sharing this way, you’ll notice your sacred tribe will grow. And as your sacred tribe grows, you’ll want to create the experiences and processes that provide safe passage in their own transformation. This is how you grow the work. Inviting them into the spaces you’ve created that help them traverse the liminal spaces between the questions they’re asking and the purpose they feel called to.

Growing your work is a fruit of sharing your light. The more you share, the more your Sacred Tribe can find you. The more that find you, the more you can invite into the safe passage you’ve designed.

Putting it all together

This simple 6 step process is a way to amplify your light in the world. I’ve found instruction is helpful in pulling this together.
